Evita is a musical production, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. It concentrates on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Perón, the second wife of Argentinian president Juan Perón. The story follows Evita's early life, rise to power, charity work, and eventual death.
Evita began as a rock opera concept album released in 1976. Its success led to productions inLondon's West End in 1978, and on Broadway a year later, both of which enjoyed considerable success. A major 1996 film of the musical was made, starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas. The musical was revived in London in 2006. Evita has been given numerous professional tours and worldwide productions, and numerous cast albums have been recorded.

I love the Evita production -- it's been years since I've seen it, but I remember loving it so much! And the music!! Oh, my! Absolutely incredible!
I love the Minneapolis/St. Paul area -- I lived in St. Cloud for about 3 years (transferred there for my career), and I wish I had visited the Twin Cities more! I don't miss the cold, though! :) I live in North Florida now -- still gets in the twenties in winter, but it's nothing like St. Cloud!
O I would love to see this. I need a theater buddy :)
This sounds like it was a great evening...I have a feeling I would get myself in trouble going to those plays and musicals all the time if I lived there!
One of those shows I've never seen though I thought the movie was good. Glad you had fun.
I love the music of "Evita!" How lucky and $40 is a great price.
Oh how I'd love to see Evita on stage! I'm fortunate to live an hour away from Atlanta so I can drive down to the FOX Theatre for shows, but man can they get expensive! What I'd give for season tickets...or a sugar daddy :-)
Sounds awesome! And you CANNOT beat $40!! =)
Sounds like you had a WONDERFUL time....so happy for you! Our local theater doesn't usually get TOO many fab numbers to see, but there are a few scheduled for next year so will definitely have to try to make it to at least one. Thanks for sharing... ^_^
And in celebration of the post...
"Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance"
-- from...well, I think you know. ^_^
Brings back memories. We went to it for a once-in-a-lifetime treat just before we left England.
